Flight

                        5Y-KZY - Kenya Airways Boeing 777-300ER

Factors are considered in choosing a particular airline to fly. Let us be honest, the cost of the flight ticket is the KEY FACTOR. Truth be told, why not save a few thousands if you can. Almost all international airlines operating in Nigeria have flights to Nairobi, Kenya but the cheapest of them is between Ethiopian Airline and Rwanda Air though at times Kenyan Airways do come close.

1.         Rwanda Air  is at most times the cheapest airline from Nigeria though with a stop-over in Kigali before heading to Nairobi. The stop- over at Kigali, before heading to Nairobi. It departs Nigeria thrice weekly (Monday-Wednesday-Friday), flights depart around 11.15a.m (Nigerian Time)

2.         Ethiopian Airline. It is a popular airline for Nigeria regulars and it departs from Lagos, Abuja and Enugu and stops over at Addis Ababa.  It is usually departs Lagos at 1.30p.m (Nigerian Time) and arrives Addis Ababa where it stops over at 6.30p.m (Nigeria Time but 8.30p.m Ethiopian Time). It departs daily.

You get to spend about 2 hours at the airport. Addis can be very cold, so it is in your best interest you are well covered up. On a lighter note, Ethiopia Airline is like Lagos’ BRT bus for Igbo traders who frequently travel to the Middle East and Asia for their business.

3.         Kenyan Airways.  Kenyan airways or KQ as it is popularly called. This airline flies from Nigeria to Kenya directly, A 5hr 20mins flight NO STOPOVER and that equals a higher price for the ticket since you don't want to find yourself in Rwanda nor Ethiopia.
